    Frequently asked questions

    The Vietnam e-visa is an electronic visa that allows foreigners to enter Vietnam without needing to submit paper applications at an Embassy or Consulate. The visa application is processed and issued through an online system.

    • E-visa application is now available to all nationalities
    • 3 month multi-entry (Evisa) is available from 15 August onward.
    • E-visa holders can enter 42 ports of entry instead 33 as of now.
    • More countries to be added to the visa-free country list soon.

    To apply for an e-visa, you need a scanned copy or photo of your passport (the page with your photo and personal information), a passport-sized photo (4x6 cm) with a white background, and a credit card to pay the fee.

    According to Vietnam Law, the visa expiry date must be at least 30 days before the passport expiry date. Therefore, an E-visa expiry date must also be at least 30 days before the passport expiry date.

    An E-visa Vietnam is processed within 4-6 working days after the Vietnam Immigration Department receives the completed application and full E-visa fee.
